WilderPaw exists for one simple reason: the dogs we love don't stay on the path. They chase the scent over the next ridge, they bolt for the water, they lean their whole weight into the harness because the world is right there and they want all of it. We build gear for those dogs — and for the humans standing at the trailhead, quietly hoping they come home safe.
Why premium, earthy dog gear
Most dog gear falls into two camps: cheap and disposable, or loud and plasticky. We wanted a third thing — equipment that looks like it belongs in the forest, on the beach, in the back of the car and on the couch afterwards. Warm materials, honest construction, muted natural colours. Gear you're not embarrassed to clip on, that holds up to real adventures, and that does its actual job: keeping your dog comfortable, visible and traceable.
The “would we give this to our own dog?” test
We're a young brand, and we're honest about that. What we're not casual about is what we sell. Every product we carry has to pass one question before it earns a place here: would we put this on a dog we love? If a harness rubs, if a tracker's battery dies too fast, if a bed flattens after a month — it doesn't make the cut. We'd rather carry a short, considered range we stand behind than a warehouse of things we don't.
Meet Nova, our adventure dog
Nova is the dog at the heart of WilderPaw — our brand's four-legged compass. Picture a restless, bright-eyed adventurer who's happiest with mud on her paws and a horizon to aim at. Nova is a brand character, our way of picturing the dog every piece of gear is really for: curious, fast, a little too brave, and worth protecting. When we ask “would Nova be comfortable in this?”, we mean it as a design standard. 🐾
Adventure, with a safety net
Our whole philosophy lives in the tension between two good things: letting a dog be wild, and knowing they'll come back. That's why safety and tracking sit at the centre of what we do — reflective and lit gear for the dark, trackers for the moment they slip the lead, harnesses that give you control without taking away their joy. Adventure is the point. Peace of mind is what lets you enjoy it.
